Modern Crystal & Glass Designs Both fine crystal (with lead content for cutting purposes) and specialty glass (with a variety of metal additives to achieve specific characteristics) are available in very contemporary designs. Their geometric simplicity, clean lines and bold patterns make them a perfect addition to any modern interior.
Traditional and Classic Designs With centuries of tradition, Czech crystal has evolved into a design style of its own. The famous classic patterns became the emblems of fine crystal. Here is a selection of designs which will complement traditional and historic interiors.
Kiln Glass All glass comes from kiln, but the expression "kiln glass" has a special meaning to the Czech glass makers. It identifies decorative specialty glass items which are created right at the kiln without further painting or etching. The designs are generally very modern, with many bubbles, spirals, streaks and the items tend to be heavy. To enhance the reflection it may be later cut along the surface and polished.
Blown Glass Obviously, virtually all handmade glass and crystal is blown. We created this category to introduce fine stemware and decorative glass which was not further embellished by cutting or painting. The art is created as it comes from the kiln.
Cased Crystal Cased crystal is defined by an inner layer of clear glass and an outer layer of colored glass. The design is then cut into the color, all the way through to the clear layer, creating fascinating designs in both traditional and modern styles.
Clear Cut Crystal If someone mentions crystal, their first thought is usually traditional clear cut crystal. With all due respect to traditional designs such as the 500 or Pinwheel, at the moment we prefer to introduce you to all the exciting new styles and colors.
Frosted Glass The effect of frosting is created by sandblasting the surface of the crystal piece. Frosted glass designs usually combine smooth shiny surfaces with the matted frosty effect, sometimes also with additional colors or cutting.
